There's some horror stories floating around the internet about this yeast creating some bizarre esters and phenolics.
I did not find this in the least. I kept the fermentation temps quite restrained at about 64F, ramping to 72F right at the end. The beer finished in about 7 days, and had a touch of sulfur for another three our four.
It produces a soft, rounded profile with nice British characteristics. It seemed to blunt the hops slightly, and was a medium flocculator. Not nearly as solid at something like WLP002 or 1968, but probably on par with US-05.
Of the Mangrove Jack yeasts I've tried, this is by far the fastest fermentation, though by no means the most vigorous. This was about a 1.044 SG beer, so it shouldn't take too long anyway.
It finishes with more body and esters than the MJ British Ale yeast and less attenuative. I think you can make a very nice, drinkable, session type beer with this. Just keep the temps under control.
