I find that this size works well for moving sanitizer or cleaner, but it doesn't keep the siphon going when moving wort or beer, it stops a lot. I have to re-pump almost continuously which adds oxygen to the beer. Pay for the larger size.

It works well in a carboy. Don't try to use it in a 1 gal jug without assistance from a friend or something. I tried, but it required several pumps to get the liquid up the cylinder, and it stirred up the settled dry hops at the bottom. I do believe there is a smaller version for this purpose, however.
